Volunteering With NORD

People volunteer for a variety of reasons. Volunteering offers individuals the opportunity to contribute to their community and also provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.

NORD offers various volunteer opportunities for community members:

  • Rec Centers: There are short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities at our recreation centers. Opportunities include, but are not limited to, administrative assistance, program instructing, and program assistance.

  • Special Events: Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with seasonal, and one-time special events.

  • Athletics: Volunteer coaches serve as positive role models for our youth athletes and are needed year-round. Assistance is also needed for game days.

  • Outdoors: Opportunities include assistance with canoeing, fishing, and special events.

  • Volunteer Groups: Community members, organizations, or organized groups of five (5) or more are welcome to spearhead a specific volunteer project, program, or assist with special events.

  • Booster Clubs: Community organizations that develop programmatic, neighborhood, and financial support for NORD parks and facilities. These volunteers encourage increased participation in NORD activities, neighborhood networking, and inter-relationships to maximize community assets and resources.
